p_51What is the style of your character’s home in three words?
Comfortably worn and classy
The Exterior
Visually it's nothing really to look at, but there are several wind-chimes with a unique tone so that Roy knows that it's his house and so he doesn't try to walk into the wrong one. The chimes are all red metal with little flames on them...the kind of thing he'd never admit to loving. The path from road to house is loud gravel, also for ease of identifying his house.
Livestock or/and Gardens
Just a lawn. No frills, no gardens, no livestock. Plenty of space for his dog to run around and enjoy herself.
The Interior
Roy's house is, inside, an exact duplicate of the one he shared with Ven back on Penrose, down to the creaky floorboards and damage to the counters. The furnishings are primarily dark leathers and warm toned woods. There are very few windows.
-Entryway
The entry is small and has a secondary door before the rest of the house; Roy and Ven lived on the eternal winter side of the cube so they had an "airlock" to keep the warmth in. Not that they needed it much with Roy living there, but that's how the house came. It has a closet and a rack for wet, dirty shoes as well as a couple of hooks for Merlin's non-working leash.
-Kitchen
The kitchen is small and basic. A stove, a 'fridge, a few counters, and that's it. One of the counters has a lot of damage from a blind man missing the cutting board when trying to make dinner. In case you're wondering, the doctor on Penrose was in fact one of his best friends there. There is a dining nook rather than a full room, it's finished in heavy, dark wooden furniture.
-Living room/Parlor
Two armchairs with a small table between them, one couch, and a giant fireplace dominate this area. There are shelves for books and knickknacks that he doesn't have anymore, mostly because the knickknacks belonged to Ven.
-Bedroom
Two identical bedrooms, both with a queen sized bed, wardrobe, rug on the floor, bedside table, and door into the shared bathroom as well as the living room. Roy's is mostly in reds, the other one is whites and blues. Not that Roy knows that.
-Bathroom
A fully modern bathroom with three doors: one into each bedroom and one into the main room. There is a tub/shower combo, a sink, toilet, and medicine cabinet.
